Serve the City Geneva Newsletter – Carrefour Rue needs help this Wednesday

BIG EVENT for WEDNESDAY if you can possibly help out:

Carrefour-Rue has a new place close to the soup Kitchen JdM, where they want to create a social center for the less fortunate and marginalized.
The project is for now called Teflon and the site is at 5 Rue de Montbrillant. Just on the corner from the soup kitchen.
It used to be a restaurant of some type earlier.
Anyway, the place needs to be cleaned up and made ready for the refurbishment.
Wednesday, May 25, CR would like to have some volunteers to help with the clean up. 9:30 on.. If only available in the afternoon let is know in comments

Samedi du Partage 10 & 11 June.
Please hurry up and decide.. as STC has committed to service 7 stores, so thats about 90 volunteers to help collect food and non perishable goods for the needy of Geneva. A fantastic program that collected 350 tons of donations last year.
Take a look at our website and see where you might be able to help ServeTheCityGeneva.ch

URGENT REQUEST- UKRAINIAN REFUGEES

Dear volunteers,

we are urgently looking for volunteers to help with meal prep at Hotel Bel Esperance in Geneva Old Town. This is a joint project between the Salvation Army and Serve the City Geneva.

We are looking for committed volunteers who could take as little as one shift per week. The kitchen will be opened 7/7 so even weekend support is required.

The shifts are 3 hours in length:

Lunch Service: 11h30 -14h30

Dinner Service:18h30 -21h30

Please Sign up on the website. And in the comments mention, which day of the week is of interest along with your preferred shift (lunch or dinner) that would be great.

Ideally we would like volunteers to keep the same shift for a minimum of 1-2 months.

In addition, there will also be a couple hours of training for all volunteers to complete- before starting the role. The training will be conducted by the Salvation Army project manager.

We really hope that you can help with this urgent request and support those Ukrainians who have suffered so much.

I will be on hand to coordinate our volunteers and provide any further information.

Kind Regards,

Simon Carrelli
Serve the City Project Coordinator
